Disability Rights Montana (Helena)
Disability Rights Montana litigates on behalf of individuals with disabilities to insure their rights to employment, education, health care, transportation, housing, and other services. Besides litigation we also engage in a full range of other efforts to promote the rights of individuals with disabilities – such as, information and referral. training and technical assistance to service providers, state legislators and other policy makers, conducting self-advocacy training, and raising public awareness.

HRDC
HRDC is a non-profit community action agency dedicated to building a better community through innovation and leadership. They provide programs and services in the areas of housing, food & nutrition, child & youth development, senior empowerment, community transportation, home heating, and community development. Individuals seeking Section 8 housing assistance work with HRDC to obtain that support.

Montana Fair Housing (Butte)
Montana Fair Housing is a private, full service, non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of housing discrimination, and the advancement of civil rights. They investigate allegations of discrimination in housing, counsel victims of discrimination, and facilitate both the state and federal complaint process. They also assist victims of housing discrimination, under specific circumstances, in securing the representation of counsel when the filing of a complaint in court is deemed the best option. They also maintain, and will provide on request, a list of housing that should be accessible to persons using a wheelchair for mobility, and that should be available to all applicants on a non-discriminatory basis. They can provide dispute resolution services upon request.

The Montana Home Choice Coalition is a coalition of Montana citizens; advocates; providers; federal, state, tribal, and local agencies; housing financiers; realtors; and the home-building industry working together to create better community housing choices for all people with disabilities.

Montana Independent Living Project (mILp)
mILp is a non-profit agency promoting independence for people living with disabilities who are residing in the state of Montana.They do so by providing assistance in daily living skills (e.g., budgeting, menu and meal planning, meal preparation and cooking, and grocery shopping), identifying and applying for community resources (e.g., Medicaid services and waivers, Medicare benefits, SNAP benefis, energy assistance, and Meals on Wheels), and sponsoring several support and recreational groups. mILp also assists youth on an Individualized Education Program (IEP) program that are transitioning from secondary education to postsecondary life.

The Montana-USDA Rural Development program focuses on helping to improve the economy and quality of life in Montana. They offer loans, grants and loan guarantees to support essential services, including housing. They help residents buy or rent safe, affordable housing and make health and safety repairs to their homes.

Reach, Inc.
Reach is a non-profit organization that contracts with the state of Montana to provide employment support, housing options, independent living support, and recreational activities to individuals with developmental disabilities. Many of these services are available using personal income rather than DD waiver funds.
